Aikaterini Sotiropoulou is a graduate of the Department of International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business, with postgraduate studies in Banking and Adult Education, and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Business Administration at the University of Patras. Her doctoral research focuses on social entrepreneurship and organizational behavior in social enterprises. Her research interests include, among others, organizational behavior, human resource development, social entrepreneurship, social innovation, business planning, and adult education.
She has taught Introduction to Business Management at the undergraduate level at the University of Patras and has served as adjunct lecturer at the Western Greece Technological Educational Institute, teaching courses such as Management Economics, Business Management, Microeconomics, Investment Management, Money and Capital Markets, Business Forecasting, Teaching and Educational Technology, Political Economy. She has also supervised undergraduate theses and participated in the Erasmus committee and the internship committee of the Department of Computer Applications in Management and Economics at the Western Greece Technological Educational Institute.
She has published articles in scientific journals such as the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship, The Irish Journal of Management, and the East-West Journal of Economics and Business, and at scientific conferences on topics related to social entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, education, and skills.
She has worked as a researcher at the University of Patras and the University of the Peloponnese on various European programs. In parallel, she has focused on consulting businesses and organizations on issues of business planning, digital transformation, developmental strategy, and European funding. Additionally, she has worked as a project manager and scientific supervisor on various programs focused on social entrepreneurship, social innovation, and adult education funded by national and European resources. She has served as the Training Director at an educational organization, evaluator of European projects in the field of youth, and expert at the National Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP). She also has extensive experience in distance education, adult education, and counseling, collaborating with the Koinoniko Polykentro (research and training institute of ADEDY, the Greek Civil Service Confederation), the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government, the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, and the Hellenic Management Association.
