Alexandra Fountouki is a researcher at the Department of Business Administration at the University of Patras and a member of the Laboratory of Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, actively participating in European research projects focusing on entrepreneurship, social innovation, digital transformation, education, and sports. She holds a PhD from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (Serres) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with academic and research expertise in Sport and Recreation Management. She is also a member of the Laboratory of Sport Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the same department.

Since 2020, she has been working as adjunct professor at the Hellenic Open University in the Postgraduate Program "Sport Management", while also teaching at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (Serres) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as in the BSc and MA programs of Sports Coaching and Physical Education at the Metropolitan College of Thessaloniki. She has long-standing experience in adult education, serving as a trainer in programs of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA), the Lifelong Learning Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in Greece, in the fields of sport management, sport marketing, strategic communication, and digital marketing.

Since 2021, she has also held the position of Assistant Director of the Postgraduate Program "Sport Management" at the Hellenic Open University. Since 2022, she voluntarily serves as Head of Communications and Public Relations at the national branch "Exercise is Medicine – Greece", where she is also a regular member. Alongside her teaching and administrative duties, she supervises postgraduate theses and is actively involved in academic research. Her research interests focus on the intersection of sports with technology, communication, digital marketing, consumer behavior, and strategic development and governance of sports organizations.

She holds a Master’s degree in "Exercise and Health" from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Organizations from the Hellenic Open University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Sport Science from the Democritus University of Thrace, with a specialization in Mass Sport and Recreation.

She is actively involved in scientific and social organizations. She has served as an alternate member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Sport Management (ELLEDA), and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of "Alma Zois Thessaloniki" (Breast Cancer Association).
