📅 27–29 May 2025
📍 University of Patras, Greece
📌 Venue: Business Administration Secretariat, Laboratory of Social Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, University Campus, Rio
From 27 to 29 May 2025, the University of Patras hosts a key ENHANCE project training session, part of the European initiative ENHANCE – The Social Side of eSports (ERASMUS-SPORT-2024, GA No: 101184295).
🔍 Training Focus
This closed session brings together project partners to advance the Self-Assessment Tool and strengthen the data collection process. The goal is to assess how eSports influence youth behaviour, social interaction, and inclusion, while identifying ways to combat toxicity and promote well-being in gaming communities.
🎯 Project Aims
ENHANCE aims to develop a structured model to:
• Analyse the social risks and benefits of gaming
• Raise awareness within youth gaming communities about the social aspects of eSports
• Support young players in shaping career paths and creating social value
• Promote prosocial behaviors and reduce toxic practices through socially connected education
🧠 Why It Matters
While gaming provides social, emotional, and recreational value, it can also expose youth to harmful behaviors like mocking, racism, and hate speech. ENHANCE seeks to bridge that gap by aligning gaming culture with social capital and ethical values.
This training session is a crucial step toward delivering the project’s broader outputs, including research reports, a MOOC, educational resources, and policy guidelines for an inclusive eSports environment.
